Table 16, Rule 10-616
Table 16: Provides the minimum size for field-installed bonding conductors based on either the ampere rating of the overcurrent device protecting the ungrounded conductors, or the ampacity of the largest ungrounded conductor. Copper bonding conductors are always smaller than or equal to the ungrounded conductor size; aluminum bonding conductors are typically one size larger than the copper equivalent.
Rule 10-616 (was 10-614 in 2021): The bonding conductor must be sized per Table 16, considering the rating of the overcurrent device protecting the circuit. When circuit conductors are increased in size to compensate for voltage drop, the bonding conductor size is based on the overcurrent device rating, not the increased conductor size.
Equipotential bonding (Rule 10-700): For equipotential bonding of non-electrical equipment, the minimum is No. 6 AWG copper or No. 4 AWG aluminum. When concealed and mechanically protected, No. 10 AWG copper or No. 8 AWG aluminum is permitted.
Minimum size of field-installed system bonding jumpers and bonding conductors. See Rule 10-616 (was 10-614 in 2021).
